To June 23 Mind Blown by Dan Marshall. Graphic designer and author Dan Marshall’s recent publication Mind Blown delights readers with strange and sometimes downright bizarre facts and concepts, accompanied by his own unique and stylish black-and-white graphics. Now, this fascinating and thought-provoking body of work becomes an equally fascinating exhibition, with selected stories from the book displayed at large-scale, with some accompanying objects from the QVMAG collection. Prepare to have your mind blown.

Art Gallery at Royal Park:
To April 14 Strange Nature – Troy Emery, Kate Rohde, Vanessa Newton-Brown, Tom O’Hern, Samantha Dennis, Helene Boyer, Laura E Kennedy, and Milan Milojevic. QVMAG is home to one of the oldest and most significant natural science collections in Australia, and the Royal Park site has proudly housed all the wonders of these collections for over 130 years. Strange Nature immerses you into the art of major contemporary artists, both local and national, to display the weird and wonderful facets of the natural world that inspire their versions of plants and animals.

Ongoing, Gallery 9 + 10 – the reinterpretation of the QVMAG’s collection at Royal Park reflects our histories, identities and stories in a fresh and contemporary context. Welcoming back familiar favourites, Australian icons and hidden gems from the QVMAG stores, as well as major commissions by leading Australian contemporary artists, this exhibition explores the many facets of our communities and our origins in Northern Tasmania. Focusing on local Aboriginal cultures, colonial history and modern diversity, this exhibition encourages us to contemplate the ever-changing cultural landscape and our sense of belonging within it.
Now showing, Guan Di Temple.
