Fault Lines is a collection of works made by reinterpreting diagrammatic imagery. Maps, dressmaking patterns, diagrams and anatomical illustrations are altered to convey the underlying tension of personal expression as we communicate and navigate contemporary information spaces. The works aim to create a sense of physical and emotional human sensations while retaining the elements of symbolism, codes, data, and instructions that imply machine language. Bones fit into coastlines, machines become delicate, geography is suddenly disorienting, and sense is turned into nonsense.
