‘Art Month Sydney’ is a citywide festival supplying a rich and diverse program of exhibitions, workshops, panel discussions, artist studio visits and tours 1 to 20 March. From curated DIY art trails and Art Bars, to gallery openings and after dark happenings, ‘Art at Night’ is an ideal way to discover Sydney’s dynamic arts scene after work, once the sun does down. For the budding collector, The Collectors’ Space celebrates private art collections comprised of work by del kathryn barton, Nicholas Harding, Lara Merrett and Ramesh Mario Nithiyendran among others.

From 30 March three premier cultural institutions – the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Carriageworks and the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia – present ‘The National: New Australian Art’. This large-scale biennial event is a single curated program across three venues, focused solely on Australian contemporary art. Stay tuned for more about ‘The National’ in an upcoming issue.
