Australian Women Artists Between the Wars

On exhibition is a selection of paintings and works on paper from early to mid nineteenth century. In the period between the wars, Australian women artists were leading the way by challenging traditions and exploring new ideas in art with a focus on colour, form and design, and subjects such as urban culture.

This exhibition celebrates the ever growing appreciation and understanding of women artists and their influence in shaping Australian art and features works by Black, Carrick Fox, Cossington Smith, Davidson, Haxton, Heysen, Preston, Proctor, Sauerbier, Southern and others.
