Blue Sky Roam

‘Blue Sky Roam’ is an alluring display of colour images from Melbourne photographer Michael Danischewski, taken while on vacation in Morocco. A blend of arid landscapes, portraits and cityscapes, these prints serve as ephemeral studies on a vibrant terrain. Abandoning his typically monochrome filter, Danischewski captures his subjects in a vivid new light, what Rachel Johnson describes as ‘an atlas of colour’ unified by aqua skies. “Colour activates the scenes – blue saturates a town in layers that can be read like the rings of a tree’s trunk, added layer upon layer – a surreal environment navigated through a labyrinth of winding alleyways filled with theatricality”. – Johnson
