A series of ten works, this exhibition reflects the artist’s ongoing fascination with numerical logic and colour to explore themes of duality. Papadimas’ discipline creates a visual dialogue of shape and colour that speaks of a broader interrelatedness. This inherent interaction between strict process and alluring aesthetic simultaneously intrigues and gratifies the viewer.
The basis of these works is the written representation of each consecutive number from 0 to 9 in greyscale. By using multiple computer programs as an objective tool to create these works, the processes involved irreversibly alter the original information. In this way, both artist and technology become involved in shaping the final image.
