Award-winning Melbourne artist Gloria Stern has always loved portraying the figure and the drama of human behaviour. In her current body of work, ‘Points of View’, she has looked to merge together direct observation with imagined responses to certain events and situations.
The paintings are loosely based on remembered scenes from her past. But, as Gloria herself has stated, “I do not think there are any real truths in life, only memories of situations mixed with new interpretations. I have therefore come to the conclusion that all I can really portray is a point of view.”
