Interlude Gallery is a young, international and local commercial gallery opening in Glebe that aims to create a niche of the most diverse emotions, artistic practise and discourse, always maintaining the highest quality and valuable propositions for the general public.

Founded in 2014 by Australian-Mexican entrepreneurs and artists Isabel R. and Misael M. the gallery works alongside a comprehensive range of talented individuals who through a strong communal feeling, saw the necessity to present an alternative space for local and international projects. A space in accordance with our time, one full of disciplinary interrelations, and therefore multifaceted.

Currently the gallery represents an interesting selection of emerging, mid-career Australian and Mexican artists, creating a strong bond between cultures and aspiring to bring the best of both in their artistic fields.

The inaugural show Interlude features the work of Katy B Plummer, Kuba Dorabialski and Megan Hales. These three multifaceted artists will be intervening the space in an exceptional way taking us (the spectators) on a poetic journey.

Katy B Plummer is a Sydney based artist recently selected as a finalist in this years ‘Paramor Prize: Art + Innovation’.

Kuba Dorabialski is a Sydney based artist and writer who has recently published essays with MOP Gallery and Try Hard Magazine, and exhibited as a finalist in ‘Rookwood Art Prize’ and ‘Kudos Award’.

Megan Hales is a Melbourne based artist selected to exhibit as part of ‘Hatched’, Perth Institute of Contemporary Art (PICA), Melbourne’s ‘Not Fair’, and ‘Debut X’ and Blindside Gallery, Melbourne.

Eclectic Sydney band Wild Cat Falling (who recently starred at Chuck Close opening, MCA) will be our special guests performing their postmodern cosmic sewer jazz.
