This new series of work by Joanna Logue is based on a nostalgic revisiting of a landscape the artist has responded to for any years – the landscape surrounding her home and studio in Oberon, west of the Blue Mountains.
“On returning home after being away for some time, I was struck once again by the mysterious spirit particular to this place. These new paintings are impressions of views from windows, looking sometimes towards the garden in an intimate and tightly constructed composition, or a more distant view towards the paddocks and fields. In painting these very personal visions I am seeking out a language to distil the spirit of place and somehow make sense of my relationship to it” – Joanna Logue
