Kirrily Humphries produces intricately detailed pencil drawings of empty, often decaying domestic interiors. These small, delicate compositions, often featuring open doorways and corridors, possess a melancholic and haunting quality, conveying the passage of time. The spaces, once inhabited with furniture, people and life, now sit forlorn and forgotten. Also on display is a new body of work by painter Derek O’Connor. His abstract paintings are swathed with layers of colour that produce a spontaneous, dynamic effect, yet slowly engage the mind in contemplation.
