‘The Devil’s in the Detail’ showcases over 60 works comprised of paintings, drawings, printmaking, ceramics and digital media by Melbourne-based artist Lisa Reid.
Over the past fifteen years, Reid has developed highly detailed, intricate work, often a result of meticulous planning which includes preparatory workings of a particular subject. Reid collects images of people that she sources from old family photographs and popular culture images from magazines and newspapers. It is her reinterpretations of these images that allow them to be free from the restrictions of purely representational forms.
