Melinda Harper Colour Sensation: The Works of Melinda Harper

Bold colours, geometric shapes and complex arrangements are at the core of Melinda Harper’s abstract works. Her art nods its head to the twentieth-century abstract and modernist artists of the past, while being informed by the present. She draws from her visual experiences, contemporary culture and art for her work. Harper’s paintings focus on colour and form, forcing them to tussle for star billing.

While best known as a painter, this exhibition (her first with a major museum) explores her diversity, by including her drawings, collages, screenprints, experimental photographs, painted assemblages and hand-stitched embroideries.
