Due to the generosity of the artist James Drinkwater, the Board of the NotFair Art Foundation will host a fundraiser this Wednesday July 6 in a bid to raise funds for this year’s NotFair from August 16 to 21.
James has donated these 30 wonderful paintings to our inaugural fundraising event. James’ support of NotFair, and all it stands for, will allow the Foundation to present yet another spectacular exhibition of works by emerging and independent artists in 2016.
James Drinkwater is a Newcastle-based artist whose practice traverses painting, sculpture, assemblage and collage. Drinkwater makes work about place, intimacy and memory. He uses abstraction, colour and mark-making as a vehicle with which to translate these concerns. In 2014, Drinkwater was a finalist in the Wynne Prize and the same year was awarded the Brett Whiteley Travelling Scholarship. Drinkwater’s work is held in major public and private collections both nationally and internationally.
Friends and supporters of NotFair are urged to take advantage of this unique opportunity to add a work by one of Australia’s most sought-after and exceptional young artists to their own collection. All works are framed and priced at $1,350 each.
NotFair is a curated exhibition of emerging, unrepresented and independent artists whose work would not normally be seen at the gallery-centric trade Art Fairs. NotFair is giving these artists a way to bring their work to the attention of collectors and galleries. 2016 will be the fourth NotFair presentation.
