Canberra-based emerging artist Sabrina Baker’s exhibition ‘Pack and Unpack’ will present a new body of work, visually exploring the artist’s conversations occurring in the year leading up to the show.
Sabrina has collected data relating to her communication to varying degrees of accuracy, and uses different colours of wool to indicate different people and wrapped lengths of rope to create visual representations of this data.
With conversations increasingly happening through technology like Facebook, email and messaging combined with new visual languages like emojis, Baker reflects on how the way we communicate is changing, with an increased chance of misinterpretation.
