‘INSIDE/OUT’ is an installation that invites the audience to consider a personal perspective on life-defining illnesses – in this case, HIV. An appropriated image of HIV cells is applied to different mediums within a conceptualised domestic environment.
This purpose-built space produced and directed by Sebastian Zagarella encourages the audience to contemplate and engage with the reality of a life-defining illness in their own way (or not), and spark a conversation that begins to normalise what is often an unspoken secret. Sebastian’s interpretation of this world shines a light on the notion of an illness being ever-present and the blurred line between inside and out.
