The Tom Malone Prize celebrates 15 years

The Tom Malone Prize, now in its 15th year recognises the work of Australian contemporary glass artists acknowledging it as a unique medium and artistic practice. The 2017 short list of finalists are Marc Leib, Jamie Worsley, Kevin Gordon, Blanche Tilden, Lisa Cahill, Brenden Scott French, Richard Whiteley, Tom Moore, Silvana Ferrario and Jenni Kamarre Martiniello. Each year the State Art Collection acquires the winning artworks of which a selection will be included in the ‘Luminous’ exhibition until 25 June at the Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA). The free Luminous Celebration on 1 April, 12-4pm features talks by artists Tom Moore, Clare Belfrage, Nick Mount and Jessica Loughlin along with the prize founder Elizabeth Malone, and lecture by AGWA Director, Stefano Carboni on Glass from the Islamic Lands.
