Winsome Jobling is a Darwin-based paper-making artist. Born in Sydney, Jobling moved to Darwin in 1982 and began experimenting with this medium. Her devotion to paper has set her course for over three decades. Jobling sources and harvests plants from across the Top End of Australia, transforming these natural materials into tactile and sensual installations and imagery.
‘The nature of paper’ features over 50 works, showcasing the remarkable diversity and depth of Jobling’s practice that reveals her intimate perceptions of the environment, history, philosophy and cultural diversity. The exhibition spans 30 years of Jobling’s work in the Top End, featuring handmade paper works, prints, sculptures and artists books.
